RV Caravan Tours:

Your Road Trip to Outdoor Adventure TM

On being a good neighbor:

During your tour you will be surrounded by your fellow tour members and other campers, so it is important to be considerate.

Electrical/Water & Sewer Hook-ups:
Please note that some nights we will not have electrical/water/sewer hook-ups: For example, on the Discover Oregon Tour we will have eight nights with hook-ups, and six nights without hook-ups. We will supply you with lanterns and flashlights for the duration of the tour, which you can use as you wish, especially on the non-hook-up nights.

Showers, Laundry, and Toilets:

There are shower facilities at all of our campsites, and on the Discover Oregon Tour there are laundry facilities at two of them, where we will be spending three nights. At some of the non-laundry campgrounds, there are laundromats nearby. All campgrounds have flush toilets except for two nights, where we will be staying at a national forest campground in the alpine wilderness. That campground has very nice vault pit toilets. Considering our remoteness, it is a very well-developed campground.

All tours are non-smoking tours:
That means the only place you can smoke is in the confines of your RV, or when you are off by yourself without the group. You will not be allowed to smoke near the community campfire or charcoal grill, in the shuttle vehicle, or when you are around the other tour members, either indoors or outdoors. If we see smoke coming from your general direction we will assume you have caught fire and will take appropriate action to extinguish the flame. Please take us seriously about this.

Pets:
Unfortunately our tours do not allow for pets. There are times when we are away from the campsites having adventures, and we will not allow pets to be unattended in a vehicle due to the heat, and dogs may bark and disturb the other campers.

Children:
Young adults 14 years of age and older who enjoy adult activities and who can act like adults are more than welcome. Sorry no children 13 and under. We may have some Family Friendly tours designed especially around children and their interests in the future. Please check back.

Reason to come a few days early, or stay a few days longer:
If you plan to stay a few extra days before or after the tour, you can visit Portland, the "City of Roses" and Oregon's largest city. We would be happy to help you with suggestions for your Portland sightseeing, or any other sightseeing in Oregon or the Pacific Northwest.

Budgeting:
Affording travel is a matter of priorities. Make do with your old car, don't stay at the fancy hotels, have picnic lunches, and grill your own dinner. That's our philosophy, and if you do those things you'll save money and get to travel more often! Once you've paid for your tour, your RV rental (if you need one), your flight or train (if you need one), any pre- or post-tour hotel, and any taxi or airport transfer costs, you can estimate your on-tour expenses with this list:

All expenses are estimated*:
$54 - gas / petrol per week (at 10 mpg and $1.80 per gallon).
$5 - per self-made picnic lunch, or grilled dinner. (Continental breakfasts included in all tours.)
$20 - per restaurant meal. (Estimate two meals for each day spent in Ashland, and one meal for each day spent playing golf, unless you pack a lunch.)
$50 - miscellaneous, laundry, and things you forgot to bring (sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.)

* Expenses are estimated per person, double occupancy and do not include spending for souvenirs or beverages (sodas, beer, wine, or cocktails). We recommend you budget about $200 per week for souvenirs. You know your tastes and habits better than we do!

Estimated on-tour expenses:
15-day Discover Oregon Tour: $333
8-day Discover Oregon - Week 1 Tour: $174
8-day Discover Oregon - Week 2 Tour: $209
8-day Grape & Grain Tour: $214
8-day Golf & Crater Lake Tour: $234 (if you are playing golf)
8-day Golf & Redwoods Tour: $234 (if you are playing golf)

Weather:
Oregon weather is unpredictable, as it is ocean and mountain weather. Although we are expecting sunny skies, there may be some rain or clouds in the mountains or along the coast. Oregon has virtually no humidity and few mosquitos. Our tours are timed to coincide with Oregon's best weather, but we cannot guaranty it will be perfect for you.

The weather is generally warm to hot in the valley, cooler and often windy near the coast and in the mountains. The nights are always cooler than the days, and can be downright cold when we are camped in the mountains. Therefore, please bring a variety of layers. A suggested clothing list would include: t-shirts, shorts, pants, long-sleeve shirt, sweatshirt and/or hooded sweatshirt, fleece vest and/or fleece jacket, rain or wind jacket, hat and mittens for the mountains, also swimsuit, sun hat or baseball cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, and any camp wear you can't do without. You will recieve a detailed suggested packing list in your pre-trip packet after registering.
